Pregnancy related pelvic girdle pain (PGP) is an umbrella term to describe aches and pains around your middle during pregnancy.
It is common – 1 in 5 women will have pain that bothers them.
It can mean you find it more difficult to manage day to day things like walking, climbing stairs, getting in and out of a car, turning in bed, or even just getting dressed.
It is important to know that the pelvis is an extremely strong and stable structure – and there is no evidence that the pain you experience is a sign of any damage.

North Bristol NHS Trust and University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Trust hold regular pelvic girdle pain classes.
You can be referred to physiotherapy by your health professional or using the self-referral form for the Pelvic Health Physiotherapy Service.
